Frequently Asked Questions

What is Autograph Authentication?

Autograph authentication is the process of determining whether or not an autograph is genuine. TCCA's team of authenticators inspect the autograph in multiple different ways such as analysing the ink flow and the formation of the autograph, evaluating the item that it is signed on and finally confirming the characteristics of the signature with multiple known authentic examples, in order to give a confident opinion on the authenticity of the autograph.

Why would I get my item authenticated?

The main reason for getting an autograph authenticated is to simply have peace of mind that an autograph in your collection is authentic. Authenticating an item before selling is a good option also, because it makes it more appealing to customers and it significantly increases the value/price of the item.

How much does Autograph Authentication cost?

Autograph Authentication starts from £10 ranging up to £80 depending on the size, criteria and number of autographs to be authenticated. For example, a 12x8 Photo signed by one footballer would cost £15 + Shipping to be authenticated.

How long does the Authentication process take?

TCCA do not offer a guaranteed turnaround time due to the different factors and variables in the process of authentication. However, we aim to have our judgement on the item's authenticity concluded within the first 2 days of arrival, the documentation/certification completed in 2 days and mailed back to you, all within a 7-day period.

Can I choose where the Authentication sticker is placed on my item?

You do have the choice of where you would like our Authentication sticker placed on your item, It can also be placed on the Letter of Authenticity (LOA). Simply leave your desired location for the sticker in the "Sticker Placement" box on the autograph authentication ordering/submission page, if it is left blank it will be placed in the bottom right-hand corner of the item (If the item is not flat it will be applied to the location we determine to be the best option, We do not hold any responsibility for our decision.)

Can the Letter of authenticity be replaced if lost?

The Letter of Authenticity (LOA) can be replaced if lost (The sticker can NOT. Therefore, if the sticker was originally placed on the LOA, you will not be able to have a replacement sticker for the item).
